The Virginian NBC Promotional Art

The VirginianI recently came across this interesting station identification artwork for The Virginian.  The official NBC glass slide is still available for sale on eBay.  The seller Rozane kindly sent me a larger scan of the artwork for my blog.  James Drury and Doug McClure are clearly visible but the third person resembles nobody from the cast.  He has a passing resemblance to Jim Davis who we all remember as Jock Ewing in Dallas.

  1. Done reading your book and thoroughly enjoyed it. It sounds so much like what my father went through (and did) as well as two of my cousins (re taking their lives, and the quickness by which they chose to do it).

I have another friend who owns horses and is an artist; you and Nic might like seeing her paintings (they look almost like photographs they’re do good).

  2. I’ve just placed my Pete Duel blog online Diane. Check it out for various videos from Duel’s career. Glad you enjoyed my book.

The artwork is amazing. Thanks for the link.

  3. Is there a way to get a print of the art that you have posted. It was originally used by NBC to promote season 5 in TV guide.
